About Us

Financial planning services co-ordinate all aspects of an individual’s financial arrangements. The continuing process takes account of the frequent changes in investment markets and tax legislation, as well as the client’s own changing circumstances.

The company was established at 1 Pembroke Road in 1982 by Michael Butterfield.

In 1988 he was joined by Shaun Day, who was particularly involved with the investment management side of the business.

In 1994 Ben Appleby joined the business, working with Michael Butterfield on the financial planning side.

In 1995 the three formed a partnership.

In 1996 Alison Hardwick joined the firm as administrator and paraplanner.

In 2003 Kevin Day joined the firm, becoming a partner in 2007. He works on the financial planning side as well as being closely involved with Shaun Day on our inhouse Discretionary Management and Model Portfolio services.

In 2004 the firm became a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

In 2007 Victoria Lewton joined the firm as an administrator and is now responsible for the office accounts.

In 2011 Leonie Day joined to increase the Discretionary Portfolio administrative capacity which has become a significant proportion of the business under Shaun Day’s stewardship.

In 2013 Michael Butterfield stepped down as a partner after 30 years. He continues as a part time consultant.
